Welcome to our COVID Testing Information Page Here is what you need to know and do take an amateur radio exam
This is how the Davie / Cooper City Amateur Radio Club is performing FCC amateur radio license testing during the COVID emergency. The ARRL's published test session schedule is a bit mixed up, and we are testing on an irregular schedule. We also post the next scheduled test session on our club's website: www.dcarc.club as soon as we determine the date.
We have put together a plan to test candidates on Tuesday, August 25th at 6pm in the parking lot at the west end of Pine Lake Plaza, 10076 Griffin Road (next to the Blue Moon Diner and behind the McDonald's). We will be set up with folding tables and chairs to administer and grade the tests.
If you wish to take the test, it is necessary to RSVP with the class of license test you plan to take so that we can have materials ready for you. There is a link at the bottom of this page you can click to send an RSVP email.
You will likely be taking the test in your car, but if you wish, you can bring a folding table/chair to test outside (weather permitting). We will have Volunteer Examiners (VEs) proctoring the tests.
Here is a link to the ARRL web page that lists what you must bring as well as what you cannot bring:
We suggest you get your FRN, but we accept SSN as well. See Item #4 in the above link for an explanation.
The fee is $15 per session.
In your RSVP, be sure to include:
License class of test (or tests) you are taking (Tech, Gen'l or Extra). If you have your own clipboard (or other surface) to write on or not. If you are already a Ham, we will have talk-in on the 147.210 repeater, +600k offset, 131.8 PL Tone -- starting around 5:30pm. RSVPs are due by noon Monday, August 24th. If you RSVP and later find you cannot make the testing session, it's ok. Just let us know so we don't worry about what happened to you!
